A unique location by the lake
The town of Balatonkenese lies at the northeastern tip of Lake Balaton, 100 km southwest of Budapest, on the Kenesei high bank. Its location is unusual among Balaton towns: neither purely south shore nor purely north shore - instead, the best of both worlds.
From the high bank - especially from the Soós-hegy lookout - and from large parts of the immediate lakeside, the entire eastern basin of the lake is clearly visible all the way to the Tihany peninsula.
